Have the IRWINÂ HANSONÂ 53-Piece Metric Tap and Hex Die Set on hand if your work requires fabricating or repairing screw and bolt holes or the fasteners that go in them. The taps and dies let you prepare clean, precise threading for new or stripped-out fastening connections. The Irwin tap and die set includes plug taps that create or repair nuts and holes as well as hexagon metric dies that create or repair fastening stems. All taps and dies consist of high-carbon steel for maximum tapping and threading strength and durability. The metric tap and die set comes with plug taps and 1-inch hexagon dies for sizes 3 mm to 12 mm, 1.75 plug taps and 1-7/16-inch hexagon dies for sizes 14 mm to 18 mm, and 2.50 pipe-thread plug taps and 1-inch hexagon dies for BSP sizes 28 and 19 (1/8 and 1/4 inch).
